Okay, fine, I’ll make an announcement as clear as possible because people won’t shut up.
I’m not going to make a DLC Unlocker for EA app on Mac.
I don’t know how to keep using Origin without switching to EA app. I don’t know any tricks.
There isn’t a native cracked version of The Sims 4 for Mac. And considering it’s been over 9 years since the release – there probably won’t be any in the future either.
There’s a Windows version running through Wine/Wineskin/CorssOver – this works on Macs, even M1 ones. You can find it on NXMac, I won’t help you with installing it. You can update it with Sims 4 Updater though.
Why I’m not going to make a new Unlocker? Because I don’t have a Mac. And I’m not going to remote connect into someone else’s computer. I did that when making DLC Unlocker v1, but that one was much more primitive, and I did most of the work on Windows, then just replicated the method on Mac. I can’t do that with Unlocker v2 so I’d have to come up with a new method. I have one in mind but the installation instructions would be much, much harder than those for Unlocker v1. And people still can’t follow these without asking me for every little thing.

Ok so for the mac people I found a way to still use the origin dlc unlocker even after switching to the EA app. It’s a bit of an annoying process to go through but for now I can still play the game with all the DLCs so it’s better than nothing I guess. For this to work you need to have both Origin and EA installed on your computer. Luckily origin for mac is still available to download online if your origin was deleted when you switched to EA.
The steps:
1. Open origin
2. Open EA (press cancel when it asks for admin password and press ok on communication error pop up)
3. Go online on origin
4. Open sims (from where you have it saved on your computer not from the EA app. For me I just type sims in the spotlight search bar and open it from there)
5. Close sims and quit origin
6. Run the add fake entitlements command (don’t have to do the step of opening origin and sims online first then closing because you have just done that)
7. Open origin
8. Close EA app
9. Open ea app (again press cancel on admin password and ok on error pop up)
10. Go offline on ea app
11. Open sims
12. Play with DLC!
anyway hope this helps someone, i know its a lot of steps but like i said better than nothing i guess.
The undermentioned will no longer work when you have switched from the Origin to the EA app
Pack System: Add pirated DLC’s to your legal Origin base game (Mac version)
When you have at least the Sims 4 base game via Origin you can add pirated DLC’s to your legal game for free. (Not sure that it also works for Steam)
You can get the legal base game for free from Origin now.
- Always automatically the latest version (Origin updates it for you)
- No problems with anti-virus (there are no cracks)
- Much smaller downloads (example: Cottage Living is now only 1.6 GB instead of 11,4 GB)
- Easier to add missing DLC’s for free
- Less problems with your CC
- Access to the Gallery
- No game-cracked folder
- No hassle with remid cookie
- Play via Origin/Steam as if you bought all expansions..
New DLC’s however must still be added manually (step 3), although much smaller in size. (example: Cottage Living now 11,4 GB, with this system only 1,6 GB)
Preparations in Origin
- Log in to your Origin account
- Click on the word Origin (left top bar)
- Click Application Settings
- Click Application
- In Client update: switch “Automatic game updates” and “Automatically update Origin” on – see picture below.
Now your game and Origin update whenever you start your The Sims 4
Find the location of your original (legal) game
The packs should be in:
[Your home directory] > Applications > The Sims 4 Packs
What the home directory is called will depend on what your user/computer is called. To find it, you can use the Finder – it should be in the left hand menu with a little house icon. Otherwise you can also open the finder and press command + shift + H to open the home directory 
NB there is also a The Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts (this is where saves go), as well as multiple other folders/shortcuts called ‘Applications’ which makes this all a little trickier than necessary!
As i don’t have a Mac i can’t try it out.
STEP 1
If you want to revert all changes. Run “delete entitlements.command” and re-download Origin app |

Things to remember:
When Origin updates repeat step 5.
When a game gets a new DLC re-download the Unlocker and repeat step 6.
When a game gets a new update you don’t have to do absolutely anything.
From now on every time you want to play the game:
0. Exit Origin if it’s running.
1. Start Origin (you MUST be online).
2. Select Origin > Go Offline.
3. Start the game.
4. Try going online, you can do it from Origin in-game overlay. If that removes the DLCs repeat the process and stay offline.
5. Enjoy your game!
STEP 2 (Optional)
- When you already have cracked DLC’s in another folder, copy the EP’s, GP’s and SP’s only to the folder of your legal game
- When Origin updates repeat step 5 of Step 1
When a game gets a new DLC re-download the Unlocker and repeat step 6 of Step 1. - Play the game via the legal installation folder – Game ->Bin ->TS4_x64 or shortcut thereof.

For those who are struggling to add DLC’s to their game, here’s an easier way of understanding:
- Make sure you’ve repeated “STEP 1” for the DLC Unlocker
- Download chosen DLC’s (via https://sims.tarac.nl/direct-links-to-packs/) and extract the folder from the .iso file* (e.g. SP35)
- Locate your ‘The Sims 4 Packs’ folder:
a. Open Finder and do: Shift + Command + H
b. Click on ‘Applications’
c. Locate ‘The Sims 4 Packs’ folder, if missing create a new folder with the exact name - Drag your DLC folder (e.g. SP35) into ‘The Sims 4 Packs’ folder
- Download the DLC Unlocker again and run: “fix OriginClient.command”
- Open Origin and go to: Account > Go Offline (in the menu bar)
- Open your Sims 4 game
*Double click the .iso file and drag out the folder from the window
** Right-Click File > Open With > Terminal
NOTE:
• You must repeat steps 4-5 in order to add new DLC’s to your game
• Steps 6-7 must be repeated every time you want to open your game to play with DLC’s and/or with online features
• If your DLC’s haven’t appeared in-game, restart Origin and repeat step 6

STEP 4 (add future DLC’s to your game)
- Download the torrent for the new DLC
- Extract by double-click
- Copy the downloaded and extracted folder to your legal The Sims 4 folder
- re-download the Unlocker and repeat step 5 of Step 1
As you don’t have to worry about amendments in the folders __Install, Data, Delta, Game, Support (Origin does that for you) all you have to do is copy the extracted EP, FP, GP or SP folder from the download to your legal installation folder.
Presume the next DLC will be SP42 then, instead of downloading several GB, it will be restricted to maybe 250 MB)
For just (Pre-)Updates you do not need anything at all. Just play the game and it will be automatically updated to the latest version.
Adding DLC’s: Suitable for Windows and Mac
- Go to this link
- Select the DLC you want
- Click on Download
- Mount the downloaded .iso
- Copy the DLC to the Packs folder (Mac) or to your installation folder (Windows)
Simple way of installing all 18 languages in one go
Please bear in mind that when you installed the game via Origin only 1 language is available, meaning that when you installed in English you cannot change to f.e. Norwegian.
In such cases you’ll have to re-install the game in Norwegian in Origin.
Also downloads from many other sources are often in 1 language only (such as English or Spanish)
In our downloads all languages are already installed.

I managed to get the game to load up but now in the in game store (or whatever its called) the packs say ‘preorder’ and when I load up a game none of the packs are there. Does it only work on new games?

I have a MacBook & had the dlc working in game before the new update on origin… since then, I tried following all the steps, but the packs just show “download to use” now. I even have the folder “the sims 4 packs” and I even deleted origin and the game many times as well, tried downloading again the unlocker and doing all the steps again but it keeps showing the same thing. Hello everyone so I was having a lot of problems on downloading the dlc from uTorrent to the point that I left my MacBook on for a whole day since it was “sending” you have to check your downloads and will see all the dlc there they going to be on “rar” I recommend downloading winzip after you do all the steps just go to the origin Dlc unlocker and use “fixorginclient” also if you can’t open the sims 4 while offline just go to your library click on the sims 4 and before picking “play” go offline this is the way I did it all my dlc work fine hopefully this can help you guys

Hi, i had downloaded almost every dlc through this website, but today i downloaded the book nook and grunge revival kits (using the same method i always use) and now none of the dlcs i installed through here appear when i load in the sims 4 menu. The game also got an update today, but i don’t think that has anything to do with my problem. Can someone help?

I was having issues with this too! while you are still online, click the sims game in your library so it pulls up for you to open it, then switch to offline while the ‘game card’ is open and you can press open game then! only way I can get it to work now

I did everything the site said to do and several times, but when I start the game it tells me that I have the extensions but that I have to download them. Hey! Just got most DLCs to work, but I’m not sure if my situation is unique. I noticed that The Sims 4 app that I downloaded from Origin was not in my main applications folder. I used spotlight search (magnifying glass icon on the top right of Mac) to look up “the sims 4” and scrolled all the way down and hit “search in finder.” I found the app, right-clicked it, and hit “Show in Enclosing Folder.” I was taken to a completely separate applications folder and there was already a folder in there entitled “The Sims 4 Packs.” All I did was transfer all the DLCs to that new “The Sims 4 Packs” folder, completed the Origin DLC unlocker/entitlements, and the packs worked! I, unfortunately, don’t have the three most recent EPs werewolves, cottage living, or growing together. They’re still saying download to use. But I hope this can help!
Correction! I meant I don’t have cottage living, growing together, and high school years. But werewolves don’t work either lol.

well thanks! works wonderfully. The gallery is also available. I had the problem at the beginning that the packs were not displayed in the game. Make sure that you read what is written in the two files at the beginning.

I have problem with bust the dust, laundry day and the playground toddlers kit. My sims won’t interact with the activities that come with the packs and instead they just resets. Anyone know why?
okay so i did everything correctly. i did the individual downloads (EP,GP,FP,)
i was able to download correctly into my sims 4 packs without doubling the folders together. i did the terminal thing, everything was a go. i did the offline trick and restarting origin. im not sure why i cant, but when i go into the same offline and online, it says that i dont have any owned DLC’s. that i am in base game so im confused. i added all the packs in the right folder and location using origin. I might add to say im also using an external drive for the game since i dont want to overload my mac.

Guys I need help it looks like some the game based clothes are showing up as broken I downloaded the “All DLC’s in 1 iso download”, the clothes were showing up before I added in the rest of the dlc I did not have.
Did you find a fix? Most of the stuff in CAS is showing broken for me

the dlc worked just fine up until the recent update, now i’m able to load the dlc properly but im having issues with my sims performing tasks with certain objects. it shows that they’re sitting/cooking in the task sidebar but they just stand there. any fixes?

mine did the same exact thing, says the packs are pre ordered and I have to download them.
Mine says I own them and they should be downloaded, they just do not appear in build/buy

Uninstall the old one and use this one for the new kits.

for future reference, how do i add the newest DLCs?
i’m on mac with a legit game, and i boot in with the origin offline method. all the packs and kits until now show up in the game as normal, but SP42 and SP43 show up as “download to use”. it doesn’t seem like the ‘add fake entitlements’ command works, even with a fresh download of the DLC unlocker.
should i wait until the krakenfiles zip is updated, or is there a better method?
I FIXED IT.
when you download the individual DLCs, make sure you unzip the .rar file to get a folder.
then open the folder and move the EP/GP/SP00 folder into Applications > The Sims 4 Packs
you do not need the _Installer folder in the The Sims 4 Packs folder, just the SP42 file (or whichever number it is). no folders should be inside the EP/GP/SP folder.
Helpp!! because i did the steps for the unlocker, I figured out how to do the torrents thing with vuze like suggested and unzipped and put them in the sims 4 pack folder in my directory, i ran the unlocker command and for the most part it worked but my game is super buggy. it doesnt have the lots in the worlds and the screen goes black and the game is completely unplayable to the point of shutting down my computer.
I was able to find a solution for this issue!! i was running into the same issue of not being able to see the worlds and I realized that when i was putting the extracted folders in the the sims pack folder they were inside another folder. example sp03>sp03 and then all the files. So I just pasted the sp03 with the files and deleted the parent folder. i hope this helps!

It doesn’t work for me. I repeated the steps several times, but SP42 and SP43 are still not showing as owned. The folders are in The Sims 4 > The Sims 4 Packs > SP42 / SP43.

Hello!! Im trying to install all of these packs and gameplays, but the web torrent isnt allowing me to. I know im a stranger on the internet but could you help me by somehow sending me the files that i’d need to put into the Sims folder? Youre the most recent downloader and i just need help.
Heys guys! I don’t know if someone can help me, but I followed all steps and by the end, I go offline on Origin as said and when I open the sims, the game just doesn’t start and says “The Sims 4 doesn’t respond”

Hi! for anyone who is having problems with the packs saying “download to use” this is how u fix it. U have to make sure if u decide to download it all at once using the torrent, the packs can not be in any subfolder. So it should look like this for example. Applications > Sims 4 pack > ep01.
IT SHOULD NOT LOOK LIKE THIS applications > sims 4 pack > all DLC for pack system> ep01.

Mount the iso and then copy the mounted DLC’;s to the Sims 4 packs folder.
Hey! At the beginning I had this problem and somehow without knowing I solved it and now the packs show in the game. But now some objects and clothes show with question marks and red and white squares I don’t know why. Could you help with this please??

So I installed ONLY the base game (even though I own a couple of packs).
I followed every step and when I put the downloaded files on the folder, only the packs I actually legally own are working 🙁

I am having this same problem, It shows all of them as owned that I had previously — However, the ones I don’t have say “download to use” as if the process messed up somewhere along the way.

I cannot seem to get this to work for the life of me. I have followed the instructions and tried again multiple times, but every time I try to open the “All DLCs.iso.torrent’ and open it with the indicated “The Sims 4 packs” folder in the applications, it doesn’t let me. The open option is grey and un clickable. I’m not sure where the issue is or if there was a simple mistake I made and am overthinking it. Pls help!
download utorrent so u can extract the All DLCs.iso.torrent, this should turn it into just iso. then put all the packs into the sims 4 pack folder.
Hi! Your description makes it sound like you’re trying to open the torrent file directly? You’re supposed to get a program specifically for torrents (I use Vuze, but I’ve heard that others recommend bittorrent). You can open the torrent file with that, which will begin the download of an .iso file, which you’re supposed to open and extract the files from to the Packs folder. I hope this helps!

I have used this before(when you could download the packs individually)and I had no problem it all worked fine I was playing the games with the packs.But now with this new method I can’t seem to make it work.I’ve followed the instructions and put the pack in The Sims 4 Pack folder but it still says unowned.I’m on a mac computer and using my game through a usb.
i couldn’t even unzip the .rar files after the torrent because it’s not compatible with macs… i dont know why they had to change the method that was working fine… torrents never ever work for me

Install the Unarchiver app from the app store (it’s free). Then, right click on the .rar file and choose open with unarchiver. It should work!

download utorrent, it extracts torrents. worked on mac for me u jus have to use ur brain and search google on how to unzip .rar files.
Hi! Don’t know if you’re still in need of a fix, but I had the same issue earlier. Are you opening the addfakeentitlements command before you open origin? and if you are, you might be starting the game while still connected to the internet.

Hi ! I’m having the same problem. I’ve tried installing the DLC 20+ times, following the instructions religiously and yet they still show as unowned. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong. The only difference between the tutorial and my game is that mine’s in French. Could that be why it’s not working ?

As I wrote somewhere else, the solution was to authorize the terminal to make changes : I hadn’t realized the add “fake entitlement…” wasn’t working. I followed the instructions here and it now works : https://osxdaily.com/2018/10/09/fix-operation-not-permitted-terminal-error-macos/
