The Sims 4: Update, repair, add DLC’s

Download, update, repair your game and add missing DLC’s.

“Wizard” Anadius came up with a program enabling you to update and repair your game with just a few mouse-clicks.

No manual downloads, no copy/paste, the program does it all
Only works for 64-bits Windows higher than  Win 7

Download Updater  
Extract the downloaded Updater with Winrar or 7.zip 
Click on Sims-4-updater-vxx.xx inside the folder (Where xx.xx represents a version number)
Click on Browse and select your The Sims 4 Installation Folder (don’t open it)
Click on Update, this will also repair your game
Language files will be installed if not already present.
With cracked games only, just click No

If you do have a legit game or you are using the pack system, click Yes
In that case an additional folder Game-cracked will be created and you can start your legal game with access to the Gallery via Your legal installation folder ->Game ->Bin ->TS4_x64.exe and you play with your legal DLC’s only.
You can start your cracked game incl. cracked DLC’s via
Your installation folder ->Game-cracked ->Bin ->TS4_x64.exe
You can just update your existing game without adding DLC’s  (Click OK)

The program shows an overview of non-installed DLC’s
(in this example SP21-SP30)

You can Add missing DLC’s
Tick the DLC’s you want to add to your game and click OK

Note for users with 32-bits Windows

Bear in mind that Discover University, Tiny Living, Eco Lifestyle, Nifty Knitting,  Star Wars,  Snowy Escape, Paranormal, the kits and Dream Home Decorator can not be played on 32 bits Windows, so no need to download these DLC’s.

Also note that the Legacy Edition is for 32 bits Windows only

 

 
The program is now checking all your installed DLC’s for the latest update and adds the ticked items to your game

 
Should an error occur, just repeat your last selections. All items already downloaded are stored in the folder Update. The program performs a quick check and continues the task.
(Make sure that the Updater is under the exceptions of your anti-virus)

Where is the base game ?

When you did not install the base game earlier, you should use the Repair option and the base game will be installed as well as your selected DLC’s.
Some people wish to play the fully updated base game without other DLC’s (lack of disk-space or computer not powerful enough ?). In such cases Click Repair and don’t tick other DLC’s.

First of all create a new folder The Sims 4 on your computer. Place that folder under the exceptions of your Anti-Virus program  Lead the updater in the first step to that folder.

Change language

  1. Download the Language Changer
  2. Double-Click on it and select your language
  3. Click Yes, Yes and OK in the pop-up screens.

Possible errors for new users who never played The Sims 4 before

You might get an error like “unable to start as mscv120.dll is missing”.

  • In that case download vcredist.rar
  • Extract with Winrar
  • Run all 6 files

You lost all DLC’s

When you switch from Origin to the new EA app you seemingly lost all your packs.

Solution:

  1. Re-apply the EA DLC Unlocker
  2. Click on Setup 
  3. Type 5 [enter] to uninstall the old Origin settings (When you get an error, try again)
  4. Type 1 [enter]
  5. Type 2 [enter]
  6. Type 19 [enter]
  7. Type q [enter]

  1. Whatever I do EP 19 doesn’t work => its shown as unowned in my legit sims 4 game. I don’t know what to do…the game is updated, repaired, I’ve got the right EP19 file put in the sims 4 folder, I open the launcher ” run the dlc unlocker for sims 4″ like usual and still it doesn’t show…can someone help please?

    1. bonjour, j’ai eux la meme chose puis par la suite carement critical et suite error j’ai fais les mise a jour pareil rien a changer et en plus le jeux ne s’ouvrait plus sa fesait erreur avec un code alors je suis allais sur forum traduction c’était un dictionnaire d’insulte hallucinante… et je suis allais anaduis l’officiel et en fesant telecharger sims 4 voici se qui s’inscrit en rouge Links used by Sims 4 Updater went down again. Either someone is reporting links or the file hosting I use introduced automated system that does it. If it’s the former then even if I find another hosting that meets my requirements – links will go down again.

      For now consider Sims 4 Updater dead. Use other ways of installing DLCs and updates.

    2. Hello, you have to go to simplified DLC control where you download this folder where it shows all the installed expansions, then you have to download EP19 and copy EP19 to the folder before and also on the folder will install.

  2. Anadius tools is working for me right now, I haven’t updated to the pregnancy fix patch yet. Will it still work if I update my game? Can anyone confirm?

  5. Hey everyone, I had to delete everything and tried reinstalling, but it’s just not working at all… I’ve tried everything, even used a VPN. I don’t know if it’s just me. Can someone please help? 07/14/25

    4. something is wrong with anadius links, like someone reporting them or the host reporting automatically so the updater currently does not work. Go to anadius forum

  6. I have a question, is there a way to install updates without other language strings included? There are so many files (checked, 1710!) and it takes ages to update (unless this was a one time thing? I don’t remember it taking so much time before).

  7. Bonjours j’ai installer le nouveaux pack nature enchanter j’ai un probleme dans mon jeux. Quand j’ouvre le monde de ce pack l’ecran reste blanc et ne veux pas ce charger. Quekqu’un avait le meme probleme et a reussi la regler ?

  8. my game keeps crashing ever since the new DLC came out 🙁 I will get to main screen, click resume or load game and then on that loading screen, it’ll crash.

        1. u need to install this file (that u can find on this page), extract every files from the zip folder, and choose some dlc that u want in ur game, then you need to allow the file to been installed in your computer.
          when the download finished, u need to go in the cracked folder and start the offline game option.
          and then you can play with dlc that u choose

  9. I can’t make the game recognize the new DLC ‘enchanted by nature’ that I just downloaded and added to the “sims 4 pack” folder 🙁 when I run the game through the unlocker the pack doesn’t appears as “possessed”

    Anyone has the same problem?

    3. I got this too. My game crashed last night so I just updated and repaired it so that wouldn’t happen again. Went to update through the tools app and got this error…

  11. Since the newest pack, Enchanted by Nature, and the newest patch release, the EA App don’t show the update. I tried everything: deleting the cache in the EA App, restarting the EA App, repairing the game, and deleting the cache and restarting the app over again, but the update won’t show up.

    I am using the same EA account for both PCs. In the 1st PC it worked, just on my second one the update won’t appear. Am I doing something wrong?

  15. I get “Updater encountered a critical error and cannot continue” when trying to install the game. I have no antivirus, downloaded Redist, followed all options listed in FAQs all with the same result. Been using this since its conception and have never had this problem with any other computer.

  17. When I try to update tells me that the updater is synced by OneDrive and to move it to a folder at the top of your partition. What can I do please?

    1. You should unzip the zip first, then click on Go Run in the unzipped file. This is how I solved it. 😀

  20. THIS IS AN OUTDATED VERSION OF THE UPDATER go to his CS RIN forum ( YOU WILL HAVE TO REGISTER, if you cant figure out the correct password for the download link upon registering then look it up on reddit, its been the same for years)

    2. Really? I Just go to his Website, where the Instruction guide is, downloaded it from there, and it was the newest version, no regristration or anything else. And both was the newest version, again it’s not neccessary

  25. I came here to see if it needs any update cause any time I open the cracked game it gives me a system error something about the dxgi.dll not being found it told me reinstalling the program may fix the problem
    i tried to fix it by repairing the game it says all done but I still can’t enter the game.

  26. When I click on the link, it takes me to something I don’t know and I don’t know how to use it, and it also doesn’t match what is shown on the site. This isn’t the first time I’ve installed the update and it’s never been like this.

Metase en la carpeta de los sims que dice “the sims 4” o “los sims 4” y busque la carpeta “mods” ahi inserte los mods que quiera usar, si alguno no le funciona puede ser por la antigüedad o porque esta en dentro de otra carpeta, es mejor que los mods solo esten en una carpeta de profundidad en dicho lugar, porque sino puede que el juego no lo lea

  31. I would like to install sims 4 and the ea app on an external drive. However the ea app does not work on the external drive without admin rights. anyone suggestions on how to play without the admin rights?

    5. Having the same issue! the updater says “Your game version (1.111.102.1030) doesn’t match the one available in the Updater (1.110.311.1020).”
      Looks like they haven’t updated their system yet. I hope they fix it asap 🙁

Im having an issue with the updater every time I try to download a new pack or kit, it says “CRITICAL ERROR Download failed for DLC X.” I’ve tried using a VPN, resetting my router, disabling my antivirus and even put the updater’s folder in the antivirus’ exceptions but nothing seems to be working it just says the same error every time i try.
