  1. Hi!
I’m on a mac laptop and the unlocker isn’t coming up for me as a file that can be opened or extracted. when i right click it says that i need an application to open it? are the instructions different for a mac? I have the sims 4 and have done this process before, which the unlocker worked perfectly fine so i’m confused as to why it wont work now.

    1. this version is only for pc. .bat isn’t a file mac OS can open. the origin version you used specified it was for mac

    1. OK, anonymous users or Tarac isn’t replying the last time I checked. So maybe I’ll attempt to aide you. What did you do before you got to this issue, Aziz Alipiev?

  2. If you are a different person, I think Tarac can only fix your issue if your name is not “Anonymous” because many users are named that and it can be very confusing.

But maybe I can help you. What did you do before you got to this issue?

  3. I would like to thank you for updating this page future reference. I know we had millions of questions, and that is what the “Thoughts” section is for! But apologies that you had to go through this much with us. Please forgive us, Tarac!

  4. Attention everyone who can’t see the package in the pack maneger! You need to extract the file FIRST from winrar. you can’t do it right away and put it in your sims 3 folder!

  5. Hello tarac. What need we do now? We don’t see any DLC’s in our laucnher either in de instalation folder of de EP’s and SP’s we don’t see the photograph of the pack and the name like EP5.

  6. After all the failed attempts, I couldn’t really get this legal method thing to work…so the crack version it is.

I guess the only way to have everything in the world is criminal work-

  7. OK, guys. I figured it out. I know why the DLCs aren’t showing up on the launcher’s list.

Anadius uploaded the Sims 3 DLCs on, and here’s what we’re missing.

Tarac, you forgot to upload the “_Installer folder” ‘s for the additional DLCs, so can you please do that for everybody? That is the only way the expansion and stuff packs can show up in-launcher and in-game. 🙂

      1. OK, Tarac. Understood. Thanks for the intel and patience, but–I’ve decided to go with the “all-in-one” method. 🙂

  8. Hey, Tarac.

I have a new issue. No DLCs are showing up on the launcher list nor they are being detected in-game.

I downloaded and re-downloaded the Unlocker tool, updated the game configuration with it and extracted the DLCs in the correct folder. I started the game via Origin Games/The Sims 3/Game/Bin/TS3W.exe, but the Expansions & Stuff list is blank!

I don’t know what I am doing wrong! Please help!

    1. Check the DLC’s in your installation folder for files inside files.
Example: when you open EP1 see if there is another folder EP1 inside.
It is that inside folder you need.

      1. Tried it out. That didn’t work either. Still no DLC showing up.

Do I have to downgrade from Sims 3 Origin version 1.69 to 1.67 or something? You said launch “TS3W.exe”, but you can’t do that for the current version.

How do you get Updater to work? Like, how do you get the config files for Sims 3 in the EA Updater folder to work? I think that might be the issue.

        1. No need to downgrade, I run on 1.69 and TS3W.exe works perfectly./
Maybe it works for you when you completely remove The Sims 3 and then reload via Origin.

        1. Je hebt OF de DLC’s niet gedownload OF ze in de verkeerde legale map uitgepakt met winrar
Ik heb zojuist alles weer opnieuw gedaan en het werkt prima

    2. I figured out the solution, guys!

The “_Installer” folder subs for the DLC packs are missing in your upload, so that’s why only a few EPs and SPs of mine are showing legally.

Dear, Tarac, would you could you perhaps–if it’s not too much work, upload the “_Installer” folders for each DLC pack please? Thanks in advance.

      1. I also ran Origin AFTER I left the EA DLC Unlocker tool command console open, and a little window popped up and said the Unlocker Tool is running!

So my other advice and probably conclusion for this solution:

1.) Install DLCs to “Program Files (x86)/Origin Games/The Sims 3”

2.) Install DLC Unlocker Tool and press 1, then 2, then 11. (DO NOT QUIT the Unlocker Tool! Keep it open.)

3.) Open Origin.exe, which by default is in “Program Files (x86)/Origin”.

4.) Window should pop up indicating that the DLC Unlocker tool is running!

5.) Launch legal Sims 3 game from “My Game Library” or desktop.

6.) View expansion packs in launcher…they should probably all be there now. 🙂

        7.) ….Happy Simming?

      2. DLC’s in the Install folder are not required because the unlocker takes care of the cracked DLC’s and provides these as being legal.
I only have 2 legal DLC’s in the install folder and the game runs flawlessly.
To prove my point, open the unlocker and type 3
It makes no difference starting with TS3W or via the Launcher.

        1. Yeah, you’re right. If I’m not running the Unlocker tool, only my 5 legal packs that I own show up.

I want to add something to the steps–

When you run Origin, make sure you don’t run it as administrator, or else in my case the Unlocker tool won’t work.

But I wonder if I am doing something wrong. Do I have to run the steup.bat extension and uninstall and reinstall the Unlocker tool every time I open up Origin? It seems like a back-hand solution on my part.

          1. I know I said this a million times already, but thanks a bunch for the suggestions, Tarac!

I’ve figured something else out as well. The other problem is that I kept launching Origin via administrator! Now I don’t always have to open the Unlocker tool, now I’ve unchecked the “Run as administrator” option in the “Combability” tab of the .exe file!

All this time, I’ve been doing these other unnecessary steps that I gave MYSELF, and that probably confused you guys. Mon apologies.

Actually…I kind of feel like I was on my own for this journey… 🙁

Thanks for being patient with me, though. 🙂

  9. There is only ONE seeder for this torrent! So nothing is downloading on uTorrent or BitTorrent! Please fix this issue!

    1. There is 1 seeder (tarac) and 25 leechers.
Not much I can do about selfishness of people not seeding after they have downloaded the stuff.

I am preparing a direct download, you can find it HERE

      1. Sorry! I did not read the rest of your comment! So ignore the other reply! Thank you so much for the link!

        1. I am still uploading so not all DLC’s available as yet
Unlike you, my ISP is still on copper not fiberglass, so lousy upload speed. Max 5 MB/s (40 mb/s) and seeding for the torrents already consumes some 4,1 MB/s.

          Edit: All DLC’s uploaded

          1. Are you downloading the torrent to create the direct link files? All by yourself too? :O

          2. The direct download is of course not a torrent.
Downloads are slow I noticed, something like 1.4 MB/s, in spite of my ISP that has a 1 Gb/s download capacity
You can speed up downloads by downloading 1 by 1. As soon as a download starts download the next one aso, aso
That way all downloads start each individually with the same download-speed of approx 1.4 MB/s.
Download all items as 1 ZIP makes it a bit faster (3.8 MB/s) but not as fast as 20x 1.4 MB/s

Edit: It took me 26 minutes to download all DLC’s with the 1 by 1 method
And yes, I made them all by myself so I ignored the warnings I got for just a few of the DLC’s

          3. Just to make sure that there are no hiccups
            1. I downloaded all the DLC’s via the direct download. (1 by 1 method)
            2. Removed all DLC’s from my legal Sims 3 folder
            3. Selected all downloaded DLC’s and extracted them all into my legal Sims 3 folder
            4. Started the legal game via Game/Bin/TS3W
            5. Game performed OK with all packs present

          4. Hello again, Tarac! Thank you for your patience. 🙁

Did all what you told me twice, and nothing happened! The default installation folder for The Sims 3 for Origin is actually “Program Files (x86)/Origin Games/The Sims 3” for me. I’m running version 1.69 for the game. So I have to open it via launcher and not “TS3W.exe”.

Who on here followed all the instructions and has the legal DLCs working fine on their PC? Please, let me know. Some peeps on here are struggling. 🙁

      2. Yes, yes! The 1 by 1 download method was easy-peasy and the game works fine with all the packs!

One seeder was the ONLY succeeder. 😉

        1. Did all those steps and no DLCs showed up at all.

I downloaded the base game via Origin. I extracted all the extra DLCs to Program Files (x86)/Origin Games/The Sims 3. I opened up “TS3W.exe”, but that opens up the launcher instead because I’m updated to

Tell me I am doing something wrong.

          1. You know what’s happening? Each of the DLCs are subfolders, actually. So you might have to take each of the DLCs folders out of their folders one-by-one as well. Do keep them in the installation folder, still!

For example, the EP01 folder is inside of EP01 when you click on it. So take it out the EP01 folder. Hope that helps the peeps on here. Just pardon the extraction process. >.<

          2. Oh…it is my bad. You’re correct. Taking out the expansions and the stuff packs out of their folders didn’t work either. The only reason why some of my DLCs are showing up is because I already HAVE some legal copies of DLC that I own myself. That’s what I get for always celebrating too soon! Please forgive me! I’m figuring this out as well! >.<"

Yeah. None of the other DLC from the Unlocker tool wants to show up in-launcher or in-game. I wonder if I'm doing something wrong as well.

I followed up your steps above as well and reset my installation folder and still no DLC shows up. Perhaps the Unlocker tool is finally broken for Sims 3? 🙁

How did YOU get it to work, Tarac? Maybe we are missing some other steps… :-/

          3. Just to make sure that there are no hiccups
            1. Download all the DLC’s via the direct download. (1 by 1 method)
            2. Remove all DLC’s from the legal Sims 3 installation folder (make sure it is your legal folder and not the cracked version)
            3. select all downloaded DLC’s with Shift pressed down, rightclick on the selection and then select Extract from the pop-up menu. Now find the legal folder in the tree-structure that shows up.
            4. Start the legal game via Game/Bin/TS3W
            5. Game performs OK with all packs present

Probably your legal installation folder is C:\Program Files (x64)\Origin Games\The Sims 3
